about us

Founded in 2005, we are a small architectural studio based in Bengaluru working on a diverse scale and typologies of projects ranging from residential, hospitality, industrial, commercial and workspaces.

The studio approaches each project with a search for a contextually appropriate idea. We put a lot of emphasis on the design process as we believe that each project has a unique site, context, program and requirements which need to be analyzed, imbibed and explored with an innovative way of taking that idea and creating meaningful spaces.

We like to work with different materials and methods of construction as we believe that materials play a very important part in articulating the character of the space.

The studio strives to achieve a design aesthetic which is honest and understated, is sensitive to its surroundings and enhances the purpose for which it is built.

yashas nataraju

Associate Architect
Yashas graduated from RV College of architecture, Bengaluru in 2016. During his undergraduate years, he interned with nilay patalia architects which enabled him to get a foothold on handling site work while coordinating with various agencies in the field across various projects. Post internship, he went ahead to join the same firm full time in 2016 where he worked on a variety of Architectural and Interior design projects from concept to handovers. This enabled him to refine his technical knowledge, resolving complexities, attention to detail and apply organizing skills to set systems to maintain the creativity-efficiency balance. bhawana solanky

Project Architect
Bhawana graduated from University School of Architecture and Planning, New Delhi in 2019. She participated in a summer school organized by the Architectural Association in the UK to design and build a boardwalk and pavilion in the Kingcombe forest reserve using a unique “design and build” approach as a teaching methodology. She interned with Ar. Kaushik Mukherjee in Bangalore and had the opportunity to further intern with Ar. Sumangala Jayatillaka under the umbrella of the Geoffrey Bawa school of thought in Sri Lanka. Upon graduating, she continued gathering experience in various residential and hospitality projects under Ar. Mukherjee. These experiences helped shape her design sense towards being considerate of nature and its entities while designing spaces. She joined nilay patalia architects in 2021 and continues exploring bold ideas through her design, while hoping to learn new aspects of architecture every day. Bhawana looks for ideas and inspirations around her and through her travels. She can be found reading thrilling suspenseful books or decoding any and all foreign language mysteries over copious amounts of tea in her free time.
